Ana Gutierrez, a preeminent public lands, environmental, and natural resources lawyer, assists clients with permitting, compliance, and litigation-related matters. Ana is committed to meaningful, effective engagement with a variety of stakeholders to advance important energy, infrastructure, natural resources, and other development projects.
She analyzes, comments on, and contests state and federal regulatory issues affecting project development and operational compliance. Ana also provides counsel to companies in the implementation of compliance programs, environmental enforcement matters, and due diligence in transactional matters. As part of these efforts, she evaluates potential environmental liabilities and risks and complex and comprehensive project permitting, particularly for natural resource projects. Ana also litigates development and natural resource projects, including matters related to the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, as well as various other federal environmental statutes.
Ana, who has local, Rocky Mountain regional, national, and international experience, offers well-rounded, dynamic, and strategic counsel to policy and legal matters.
Her background involves a wide variety of natural resource projects on public lands, including oil and gas development, mining projects, transmission infrastructure, renewable energy infrastructure development, and ski area development.
Ana participated as a student in the Colorado Pledge to Diversity Legal Group 1L Clerkship Program in 2009. Through that process, she was offered a position to work at Hogan Lovells US LLP for the 2009 summer as a law clerk. Ana was invited back to Hogan Lovells for a 2010 clerkship, and was offered a full-time position at the firm beginning in 2011.
